The Adventures of the Aesthetic is an anachronistic
survey of art theory and aesthetics. Focusing on the
latter half of the 20th century, this show seeks to
flatten and mollify distinction between modern and
post-modern, abstraction and minimalism, and
ultimately define the pure truth-value in nature.
These days, the rift between audience and performer
has yet to be bridged. When the present moment is the
only moment, it is that moment that can control the
future.
The innovation of the visual phenomenon as premiered
in the illusionary space of linear perspective
paintings of the 14 cent., re-employs itself in 20th
century Op Art without pictorializing the space in the
image.
